#JadoreVoxBox Dessange Paris

**I received these products compliments of @Influenster for testing purposes. I am not being paid for this review!**

I received three products to try about a month and a half ago. The products are
- Dessange Paris Oleo Miracle Replenishing Shampoo
- Dessange Paris Oleo Miracle Replenishing Conditioner
- Dessange Paris Oleo Miracle Replenishing Oil

All these products are for damaged hair. I have short hair (to the back of my neck, cut in a short A-line style. So, I do not have a lot of hair. :-) I go every 10 weeks to have my hair cut and dyed (I stick with dark colors but do have highlights so slightly bleached hair)

I want to start by saying how amazing the smell of these are! I think males and females alike can use this product. It has a cologne/perfume that is so nice. I could smell this stuff all day and never get sick of it!

For the first few uses, this stuff was wonderful. I do not use the same shampoo and conditioner two times in a row. I have a few products in my shower that I alternate. I found myself using this line less often because I was getting buildup in my hair. I would go to blow dry and straighten my hair and my hair felt really oily. When I would shampoo and condition with one of the other products I use, the buildup would be gone. That disappointed me and that is probably why I will not buy this again for myself. I use it now for my daughters (both under 8 years of age) and it works wonderfully in their hair.

The oil is great to keep my hair straight on humid days. I live down south so that is a major plus! My Mom was visiting and was using the oil on just her scalp, because she had some dry patches. So, I would buy the oil again but not the shampoo and condition for myself.

#GoPROFOOT Lifesaver!

Thank you Influenster for sending me these insoles for free in my #GoVoxBox, to review and give feedback on. I also received in the same #GoVoxBox, I also for the ProFoot Pedi-Rock.

Let me start by saying how very much I am in LOVE with these insoles. I was having MAJOR problems with leg cramps when I would go running or doing a fast paced walk. I could tell it was because I did not have enough support in my running shoes. I would have bought insoles but I was not sure as to which ones to get. I go running or walking up to 3 days a week. My leg cramps would get so bad after about 10 minutes. Really put a damper on my exercise routine.
Since getting these, NO leg cramps! I can do a 65 minute running/walking routine and not have to stop every 10 minutes to stretch out my leg to keep it from cramping. What an amazing feeling to know I can get my exercising done and not have to worry about cramps.

The other product I am going to review is the Pedi-Rock. I have only used it once but it worked very well. I had a little bit of dry skin on the side of my feet. I keep the pedi-rock in the shower so when I wash my feet, I can just grab the rock and scrub my foot for a minute. It's soft enough to feel comfortable in my hand but rough enough to get the dry skin off my feet.

#MullerQuaker is FAB!

Thanks to Influenster for sending me a free voucher to finally pick up one of these amazing yogurts! I use to see them in the grocery store but just never picked any up. Boy, I have been missing out! I love yogurt and I love fruit. These take BOTH of those and mix them together. But this isn't just any "fruit on the bottom" yogurts. These you are given the freedom to add how much or how little fruit you want to your yogurt. Super creamy and the fruit is delicious!
There are a few different kinds of yogurts. Not all are just fruit ones. Go to your local grocery store, Walmart, or Target and grab one (or a bunch) of these yogurts. You will not regret it!

Best VoxBox EVER! #GoVoxBox by Influenster!

I received this AMAZING #GoVoxBox from Influenster. I have received 4 Vox boxes since March of 2013 and I can honestly say this is the best on yet!

The 1st item I would love to review is Playtex Sports Fresh Balance tampons (Playtex Sport and Gentle Glide) @Playtex_Sport / #PlayOn  I am not a tampon user so I was able to pass these along to a friend to give me feedback. She loves them! These are actually here brand of choice. The applicator is wonderful. No leaking so she has the confidence to wear them and keep up with her busy lifestyle. She has been using Playtex tampons for years so when these came out, she was so happy! You have a dedicated customer with these tampons.

My FAVORITE product from this whole VoxBox was the Vitamin Shoppe Fit N Full Protein Shake (The Vitamin Shoppe) @VitaminShoppe / #NextStep  First off, the shake is adorable! It comes in purple, which is my favorite color. Way to go on the color choice! :-) Now onto the shake itself. The first shake I tried was the Swiss Chocolate. I filled up my shaker bottle with water from my fridge to the 8oz line, poured the chocolate powder in, shook the bottle for about 30 seconds and started drinking the yummy goodness. With the chocolate shake, I got NO clumps and there was no chalky taste. It has a smooth texture and VERY creamy. I felt like I was drinking a chocolate shake from a restaurant. Healthy but it tasted like a dessert. It kept me full till lunch time, at which it was time to drink the French Vanilla Fit N Full shake. Same outcome at the chocolate shake. No clumps and no chalky taste. So creamy and yummy! That shake kept me full till 4 hours later, when it was dinner time. The very best thing for me is the fact that I was able to consume these shakes and my lactose intolerance was not affected. I can not consume any dairy without being in pain 4-6 hours later. I was nervous I was going to feel sick that evening. However, to my amazement, NO stomach pains! How fantastic! The next morning, I had the last pack, which was the Fit N Full Fresh Berries. That one was yummy in taste. However, for me, it clumped pretty bad. Not sure if it was because the water I used was REALLY cold and it just didn't mix well. I plan to grab one of the chocolate and one vanilla within the next week or so. I have been searching for a protein shake that tastes good and doesn't get me stomach issues due to my lactose intolerance. This is the shake for me!

Next I will discuss the Blue Diamond Blueberry flavored almonds (Blue Diamond Almonds) @BlueDiamond/ #GetYourGoodGoing. Um…where do I begin?!? Heaven! My youngest daughter shares my love of almonds. We normally just eat the original/plain almonds. We have NEVER tried flavored almonds. So, when these arrived, we were too excited. It was the 1st item we opened and just had to eat. I would say within 10 minutes, we had the whole little bag completely consumed. It left us craving more :-) I plan on buying more this weekend. They took care of the sweet tooth we had without making us feel guilty for consuming sweets and cheating on our healthy eating!

Two awesome items in the VoxBox was the Profoot Triad Orthodic & Profoot Pedi Rock (Profoot Care) @Profoot_Inc / #GoProFoot. I was really excited for the Profoot Triad Orthodic insoles. I am an amateur runner. I enjoy running on the treadmill as well as running on the pavement. One issue I have is about 10 minutes into my run (or even my walk) is my left leg cramps up. I normally can run for 5-10 minutes, stretch and then run of walk for another 10 minutes before stretching the cramps out again. These insoles are a miracle! No cramps in my left leg. It adds a wonderful arch, which is what I believe was giving me issues with the cramping. I wore them for the first time yesterday. They fit perfectly into my running shoes without feeling weird by my heels or bunching up by my toes. I wear a size 8 shoe and these fit my feet perfect. Today I went running and walking without any cramping. The other item by Profoot was the Pedi Rock. I have this item sitting on the ledge in my shower. When I am doing washing up, I grab the rock and scrub my heel and the sides of each foot for about a minute. My feet are so smooth! The rock fits so well in my hand. It's rough for my feet but not in my hand. It's comfortable to hold. What an awesome product!

I do not get many time to spend alone, since I am a mother of two small children. One time I use for myself is bath/shower time. Even during that time, I do not get many minutes alone. So I like to use soothing products that take me to a happy place, even for a few minutes. Lavender and chamomile is my favorite scent combo. Always reminds me of when I go to the spa and get a facial. SO, when I opened my VoxBox and saw these Aqua Spa Bath Salts (Aqua Spa Bath) @AquaSpaBath /  #RelaxwithAquaSpa  I was excited because it was a product to use in the bath AND I was ecstatic because it was my favorite scent combo! I sometimes just go into the bathroom just to smell the bath salts and then go on doing what I was heading to the bathroom to do. I have only been able to use them once to take a quick bath. The scent is amazing and my skin felt SO soft afterwards. I can not wait to take a bath again soon!

The last product in my VoxBox was a coupon for a free Muller Yogurt product (Muller Quaker) @MullerQ@MullerQuaker. I can not consume yogurt but I did give the yogurt to my youngest child to try. She loved the Muller Corner Dark Chocolate & Cherry yogurt. Said it was VERY creamy and the fruit was amazing. Since she loved them so much, I am going to pick these up for the summer, since no school and I need healthy snacks for my kids to eat.

I will say again, this was so far my all time favorite VoxBox. These complimentary products from Influenster.com are ALL products I plan to buy in the future!!!

SpeedStickGEAR VoxBox

*received these products complimentary for testing purposes from Influenster (www.influenster.com) *

I am using my wife's blog to review these amazing products I received from Influenster, to try for free.

I received two Speed Stick Gear Advanced Performance Antiperspirant Deodorant. One of the scents is Clean Peak. The other scent is Fresh Force. So far I have used the Clean Peak.
I decided to give it a try on a morning that I was going to be going for a morning run. In my career, I do a lot of physical training. Living where I live, it's very humid and warm. And most of the time that I am doing my physical training, I am outside. So it's important that I use a product that keeps me dry and smelling fresh. Let me tell you, this product did just that! After a tough work out, I smelled as if I had just taken a shower. I was also surprisingly dry.
There is a brand that I have been using for YEARS that I thought I was dedicated to and would be using for many more years to come. However, I am fully convinced to switch to using the Speed Stick Gear Advanced Performance Antiperspirant Deodorant. I will be trying out the other scent, Fresh Force, tomorrow morning when I will be enduring another tough physical training exercise.

*48 hour wetness protection
*New DryCore technology, that only Gear provides. Absorbs better and fights sweat for 48 hours.
*There is also body wash and bar soap, which is a line of Irish Spring body care.

These products can be purchased at retailers near you,in the prince range of $4.

Sally Hansen Total Knock Out VoxBox

*Recieved these three Sally Hansen Complete Salon Manicure polishes from Influenster (www.influenster.com), as a complimentary "gift" to try out and review. I did not pay for these myself and I am not paid to write this review!*

Today I received, from Influenster, three different bottles of Sally Hansen's Complete Salon Manicure nail polishes in #470 Red My Lips, #510 Pat On the Black, and #540 Jaded. First off, let me just say, the packaging (as in the bottles) are wonderful! They are thick glass and have a wonderful handle on the brush. They are very simple looking, which I love. The brushes are wider bristled, which I enjoy (I know many other people do not care of that). For me it helps to get the polish up and around my cuticles, which are in terrible shaper currently. The color name and number are located on the top of the brush handle, in big font so the customer can read it without squinting or trying to see what exactly it says. The smell is….well, a nail polish smell. :-)

Onto the colors. They are beautiful! No glitter in the ones I received, which I like because I already have so many glitter polishes. It's winter and so I do not wear glitter polish at this time of the year. I find the colors to really be ones that can suit anyone of any age or skin color. I used #510 (Pat On the Black) on myself. It's a beautiful deep purple, almost black, color. I was able to just apply two coats with wonderful coverage. It dried quickly and left a luxurious shine. I just applied it tonight so I do not know how well it holds up, as far as using cleaning products and stuff. I will update in a few days and let you all know. I am a housewife, who cooks and cleans every day. That will be the true test :-) I used #540 (Jaded) on my youngest daughter, who is almost 4. She loves it! We shall see how it holds up on all the abuse to makes that polish sustain while on her nails :-) Then I used #470 (Red My Lips) on my oldest daughter, who is 6. She's sure to "abuse" her's while in school tomorrow. An update on how her's held up is soon to follow as well.

Overall, I am impressed. I am positive this polish will "hold it's own" in the next passing days. Beautiful colors, great quality for the price (retailing at around $6-$8, depending on where you go)

Rimmel London Glam Mascara Scandal Eyes

Received this product complimentary from Influenster (RoseVoxBox). First, the most important part! This charm retails as under $13 which is outstanding for such an amazing product.
I wore this for the Marine Corps birthday ball earlier this month. I had never tried a Rimmel product before so I was unsure what to expect. The packaging is nice. I like the wider tubes because I get a better grip on it and I feel it's a lot more fun to look at.
My color was extreme black, which was another bonus for me. I LOVE dark mascara. The darker the better in my opinion. Makes my eyes REALLY pop!
I was going to wear false lashes that night but after putting this stuff on, I realized I did not need them!
The only small complaint I have is the mascara stayed wet for about a minute or so. I didn't make sudden eye movements till I was sure it was dry. Once it was dry, it did not flake off and didn't leave my lashes feeling heavy either.
It came off VERY easily with my e.l.f. makeup remover wipes.
I will definitely be buying this product again!
Check stores now! It's already hit the shelves as of this month (November 2013)

Dr. Scholl's® For Her Cozy Cushions

So 2 months ago I received in my Influenster RoseVoxBox a complimentary pair of Dr. Scholl's Cozy Cushion insoles. Right away, I noticed how soft they were. They fit sizes 6-10. I cut mine down to a size 8 using the awesome lines they provided on the back on the insole to cut them down if need be. They retail at $12.49. I placed them inside my favorite boots that I can not wait to pull out once the weather gets chilly out. They fit inside like a GLOVE and keep my feet as warm as one as well. I plan on getting a pair for all my winter foot wear!

Dr. Scholl's® For Her High Heel Insoles

*received this product complimentary from Influenster.*

I 1st tried out this product about 3 years ago. My husband was coming home from a deployment. I had bought these beautiful, sexy boots with a high heel. I knew I was going to be standing for a few hours, waiting outside for him to arrive. There was NO way my feet were going to tolerate that. So I went to the store looking for insoles. I bought these little gems. So glad I bought them. I put them inside my boots and then slipped my feet inside. Heaven!!! My feet felt like I was walking on a floor made of cool gel. But that wasn't going to convince me 100%. The true test would be a few days later, when I had to put those boots on and stand around for who knows how long!
Influenster.com
Let me tell you, my feet didn't hurt at all while waiting for my husband. They were SO comfortable, that when I got home, I walking around the house for awhile longer with them on! They were that nice on my feet. 3 years later, those same insoles are in those boots, which I try and wear often. So not only does the product work well at the time, they hold up for a long time.

I received this product to try from Influenster (complimentary of course) a few weeks ago. I popped those babies into a pair of heels with a 3 nice platform heel in the front and a 5 inch thin heel in the back. Just like the boots! Pure bliss!!! I haven't worn those heels out yet but I can already tell they are going to be just as comfortable as my heel boots.

I am not a big one for heels I might add. I am a stay at home Mom so flip flops and slippers are my best friend. However, I do get dressed up to be UNmom-like for a few hours, to go strut what I got with my husband. And when I do, my poor feet to do not want to be subject to painful shoes. These insoles help with that.
So overall, I highly recommend these insoles to ladies who wear ANY kind of heels. Get them! Go now! :-)

*This is another complimentary product I received from Influenster to review*

This wonderful product by Goody. They can be found here http://www.goody.com/Products/Hair_Accessories/Ouchless_Ribbon_Elastics?colId=3f1096ad-ff15-40eb-9d85-98156ac6c5e6&c_id=1a7ea079-c44c-481e-8d02-db7cd0b32277

ABOUT THIS PRODUCT

  • Soft, stretchy material that looks beautiful on the wrist or in the hair!
  • From America’s #1 elastics brand, Goody® Ouchless®
  • Unique knot style hair ties are perfect for personalizing or dressing up your look.
I LOVE these! I have really long hair so I always have a hard time with finding a hair band that will hold my hair securely. These work great for when I go to the gym. While I am on the elliptical and my hair is bouncing all over the place, these hair ribbons keep my hair in place. I love the cute colors and the great material. They are not your ordinary hair band in that they actually have a cute appearance. They can be worn around your wrist without giving the appearance of a hair band. My daughters absolutely love them as well! Thanks Influenster for the wonderful, FREE product to try!

Changing it up!

It's been a long while since I've been on here. Life kind of catches up with you and before you know it, a whole year has just flown by. I am going to try to keep up with this blog a little more.

I am trying something a little new today and writing about something other than every day life.

This year I have REALLY gotten into makeup. Yes, I am almost 30 years old and finally understanding the true concept of makeup and the true art form it is.

Along with LOVING makeup, I also LOVE saving money/getting things for free. A few months ago I signed up for this company called Influenster (online). They send you free products to try. All you have to do is try them out and then give your honest feedback on Twitter, Facebook, Instagram, your blog, YouTube, Vine, and/or whatever other online social media site you may be a member of. I don't do much on YouTube as far as posting and I don't have a Vine account so I thought I'd use this blog to write about the products I have reviewed and how I feel about the item(s). And by the way, all these items in each VoxBox (this one is the SunVoxBox/SunkissedVoxBox are free! I received them as a complimentary gift. I did not pay them for it and I am not getting paid to do this review or any other review!

This blog is going to be about the Olay Fresh Effects collection, specifically the Fresh Effects BB cream (in fair to light).

The first day I got my VoxBox, I right away opened up the Olay Fresh Effects BB cream. I was so excited!!! The tube is a very convenient size. I have a few other BB creams and their packaging is kind of lumpy and not very "throw in your purse and go" size. The design on the packaging kind of goes along with the name. It's a very fresh design. White with light green and yellow colors. Very pretty. Now onto the color. OMG! SOOOOO pretty!!! I am in love with the smell. Very fresh and sweet. But not overpowering. It has 15 SPF in it but smells nothing like sunscreen! Phew, because who wants to smell that all day on their face?? Olay Fresh Effects {BB Cream!} offers six skincare benefits in one step The consistency is thick but not like a paste. It was a light foundation color but once I out it onto my face, it just blended so well into my skin. I can wear a light to medium coverage in foundation so I was a little worried this would be too light for my face. Not the case at all! The coverage is nice. It's just enough. I can still see my freckles, which is always a plus for me. I am not trying to hide those precious beauties. It did cover up the redness from some of my "it's about that time of the month" pimples. If I was going to wear this for a night out (which I plan to soon), I would still have to wear my undereye concealer  because it didn't cover up my dark undereye circles. I decided to put the BB cream on my face the day I was going to the gym. That would be the true test. 60 minutes of cardio, sweating like a pig, would be the true test to see if it would run off my face (no pun intended). Nope! After all that hard work, the BB cream was still on my face, with no sweat lines! Yay! There was a little on the towel when I dried my face from sweat but that's to be expected. I want it to come off when I wash my face, right? I am not looking for a face dye :-)

I just got this product last weekend and since I am a stay at home Mom, I don't get to wear makeup often and haven't been able to really try it out. But, this is going to be my go-to BB cream for the summer. It's wonderful. I am glad I got to try this wonderful product. Thank you Influenster! Head over to Olay on FB, www.olayfresheffects.com,  Influenster.com, and Influenster on FB! Check out all these sites have to offer! Also check out http://www.amazon.com to buy from there! :-) Hurray for #nofilter kind of days!

This past week

Well, the last time I updated the blog was last week Tuesday, which ended on a really crappy "note". After I updated the blog, I started making dinner. Half way through making dinner, Kailyn started crying and was acting like she was in pain. After about 30 minutes of crying and not being able to get her to stop, we took the girls into the ER. We waited for 3 hours in the waiting room. I couldn't put Kailyn down for even a minute. If I tried to sit and hold her or put her down, she would cry. So I had to walk up and down the halls of the hospital till they called us back. Scarlett was really sick too so the doctor wanted to check Scarlett out too. Kailyn ended up with just a viral infection and was given amoxicillian. Scarlett had a 103 temp. so the doctor gave her Tylenol and Ibuprofen to get here fever down. He ordered both girls to have chest x-rays. Kailyn's came back totally fine. Scarlett had a teeny tiny spot on her lung. Doctor said it was either a viral infection like Kailyn or it was a touch of pneumonia. He decided to treat it as pneumonia and gave her amoxicillian as well. While we were in the car after leaving the hospital, Kailyn threw up some water. I made Max take me back to the hospital so I could ask the doctor if that was ok. Of course he said she was going to be fine and told me things to look for and bring her back if she was feeling really sick.
It's been a week since all that happened. The girls are back to normal. They have 3 more days of antibiotics. Max's birthday was on Sunday so we went out to dinner. That was the 1st time the girls were out of the house since they were in the ER. We went to Buffalo Wild Wings for Max's birthday dinner. That was the only thing we did for Max's birthday since Max was feeling kind of sick that day as well. And because all our friends up and left us :-)
That's about as eventful as the past week has been. I am studying to take my last quiz for my Medical Terminology course before taking the final exam. I can not wait to get onto my Medical Biling Technology course and actually start doing medical filing work.

It's been almost 2 years!

Wow! I forgot all about this blog. I realized I need to definitely change up the layout and brighten it up a bit. Not that I have much time for that but I am going to give it a try.

Well, goodness, where should I begin?? Since July 2010 a LOT has gone on! That deployment went by fast. He was gone from July 2010-January 2011. We waited to open Christmas gifts till he got home. Homecoming was awesome. Even though it was about 9pm and maybe 40 degrees outside, the excitement kept us warm.

(Maybe the best way to do this is to break things up by months, where something eventful happened)

February 2011: Went to Las Vegas for the Marine Corps ball. Had a really nice time. I ended up wearing this sexy red dress. Hope to wear that dress again some day. Nice friend of mine kept the girls overnight. Was my 1st night ever away from Kailyn. Kailyn learned how to walk this month!

March 2011: Max had a surgery done (here is a hint: we can't have kids anymore). He ended up having severe complications. I have never been so scared in my life! It took a few months but he is all better now. Kailyn also turned 1 on March 30th, 2011. We had a nice party for her at the house. Plenty of people came over to celebrate her special day. I made her cupcakes. Bakes the cupcakes, made my own homemade buttercream frosting, colored the frosting silver and pink, and then Max helped me decorate the cupcakes with piping bags. On the morning of the party, we were woken up by Scarlett throwing up. She had the flu so she had to spend the whole day in our bedroom. That morning I deep cleaned the house and sprayed Lysol throughout the whole house. Of course a few days later, on Kailyn's birthday, Kailyn woke up and was puking. Happy Birthday pumpkin. It took a few days but they both recovered quickly.

June 2011-July 2011: We made a surprise trip home to see our families. It was the first time everyone got to meet Kailyn. The drive there went great. Kids were enjoying themselves and nothing happened with the car. We spent 3 weeks on vacation and couldn't have had a better time. We definitely didn't want to leave. On the way back, Kailyn cried the whole drive. And of course once we pulled into the driveway, she was happy again. Stinker. Our godson Skylur Lane Chappell was born<3 Went down to Santa Monica Pier California in July. Was the girls and my 1st time ever seeing the ocean. Boy that water was cold and had too much seaweed but it was a really nice time.

September 2011: Scarlett turned 4. I made her a character pan cake. It was a ballerina bear cake. I made the buttercream frosting myself and piped out the design on the cake. What work! I find it much better to make their cakes instead of paying someone else to do it. It's a lot of work but hey, what else do I have to do? :-) Also that month, we went out to Arizona to see Nick, Tanya, Reyna and Skylur and to celebrate Reyna's 2nd birthday. Got to meet Sky for the first time. I love those kids! We had a really nice time and hated to say goodbye.

October 2011: Happy 5th Anniversary honey! Max and I celebrated our 5th wedding anniversary by having a nice romantic dinner at a restaurant called The Falls down in Palm Springs, CA. Then we spent the night without the kids because a (now ex-friend) of mine babysat the girls for us. Of course the very next morning I got up at 6am and picked them up. I hate spending the night away from the girls. Also this month, Nick and the family came out to stay with us for about a week. It was awesome getting to spend time with the kids. Poor Reyna had a medical issue and had to be taken to the ER. Their visit was cut short due to that incident. Thankful she ended up being ok. But goodness was I worried about her. Halloween was awesome. We did some trick-or-treating with that ex-friend and her kids. Max was in the field so he couldn't be around the take the kids trick-or-treating.

November 2011: On November 4th, the girls and I flew to Wisconsin. Was Kailyn's 1st time on an airplane. Both girls were angels! They slept the whole time, since it was a redeye flight. Dan picked us up from the airport. The next day Jessica and Matt got married! <3 Was a beautiful wedding. Adam turned 21 on November 12th and then Adam and I cooked our first Thanksgiving dinner together November 24th. We cooked at his apartment. It was also my 27th birthday. LOVE when my birthday lands on Thanksgiving. Lots and lots went on that month since we were in WI/IL till January 2012.

December 2011: Max drove from California to Wisconsin to be with us for Christmas. He left on the 22rd and planned to make it to WI by the 23rd but he ran into some snowy weather in New Mexico and had to spend the night in NM. Thankfully he made it by Christmas Eve. The girls, my Mom, Dan, Adam, and me all went to Dan's Mom's house to celebrate Christmas Eve. While we were gone, Max went into my Mom and Dan's and took a nap. After Dan's Mom's house, our plan was for me to go into the apartment and put out the gifts and then go to church. Then when we got back from church, I was going to have Scarlett go into the bedroom and be surprised to see her Daddy there. The plan worked except for when we went to church, no one was there. It ended up being a wonderful evening. The next morning we got up and went to Max's parents house and celebrated Christmas. Spent the 25th-January1st in IL, went to grandma and grandpa's January 1st-3rd, and then the morning of the 4th, we started our drive back home to California. Made it back to CA on the 5th.

January 2012: January was a stressful month. We'd been waiting since May 2011 to find out if Max was going to be able to reenlist or not. Back in December he got denied to stay in but was told to submit his package again and see what happened. Nothing else really happened besides we got taxes and paid off our debt and spoiled ourselves a little bit. My niece Addison turned 1 this month. How fast that year went by!

March 2012: Wonderful things happened this month. Max was able to stay in! Oh my word! We were so nervous! But he's in for another 3 years. My brother came out to visit us from March 27th-April 3rd. I did NOT want him to leave and neither did the girls. It was awesome having him here. He helped me bake Kaliyn's cake (which I went WAY overboard with if I might say so myself). A few days later it was Kailyn's 2nd birthday. That morning she had her 2 year check-up (almost 29lbs which is in the 70's percentile for her age and then almost 34 inches tall which is also in the 70's percentile for her age). We opened gifts that morning and then had cake in the afternoon. That evening we went to the Bowladium to have a nice night out bowling. Kailyn played so hard and had so much cake, she passed out in my arms at the bowling alley. On the 31st I started taking Medical Billing courses online through Allied Business School. I have 6 months to get 3 courses done. Max bought me a MacBook Air laptop for school. :-)

April 2012: So far this month is going well. School is going really good. I started school 11 days ago and I am 2 weeks ahead of schedule. I have taken 3 quizzes and got really good grades on the (90%, 100%, 95%) Tonight I am going to study the rest of Chapter 4 and hopefully take the quiz tomorrow or the next day. I am REALLY going to try and do good with school. Last time I messed up bad. I can't fail this. Plus, I need to be able to have a job so that in 3 years when Max gets out, we have income coming in while he is looking for a new job.

This is my perfect family a year later, Easter April 8th, 2012

Just another Saturday

Today was a nice, relaxing day at home. Today I didn't even have to work out. I take the weekends off to let my muscles "recover". It's weird because I had the urge to do sit-ups or something. I saw Max on Skype webcam this morning and then again this evening. Scarlett was happy to see her Daddy. I can't wait till Kailyn is old enough to watch Max on the webcam. I got a 5x7 of her and Max taped on her wall by her crib so she can see it. I want her to remember her Daddy when he gets home.
The exercising is getting a LOT easier but it's becoming really enjoyable and a way to relieve stress. It also gives me a way to be on a schedule. I never thought I would ENJOY working out. I can't wait for my shoes to get here. The e-mail confirmation said that they were shipped out today. So, hopefully sometime this week.
It's been really nice being able to talk to Max online and see him on the webcam. His computer isn't working the best so the quality isn't that great with the web cam on his end. But, Scarlett gets to see her Daddy so that is what's the most important. I can post videos and pics of the girls for Max on days when he can't see them. And I don't care for him seeing me till I lose this weight. And even then, maybe I want to surprise him with my new body. :-)
Tomorrow Ashley, Bethany, me and all the kids are going to a Pot Luck that Ruby, the FRO, is putting on. Should be fun. I love when Scarlett gets time to meet new kids and get out of the house. Hopefully she behaves and doesn't make me leave early. Tomorrow morning I have to clean the house. I don't have any Pine Sol to clean the floor so I am going to have to use Clorox Bleach cleaner in the bucket of water to clean the floor. Ugh.
So glad we've made it through the 1st week of the deployment. Weeks should start flying by till about the last few weeks before homecoming. That is when the time starts going slow again.

It's a breeze

Working out has been getting better with each passing day. After we went for the 3 mile walk on the PFT track on Monday, then on Tuesday I stayed home and walked around the housing area 2 times, 20 minutes each. Then did my 100 sit-ups and 40 squats. Yesterday we did the PFT track again. It went really good because we went at about 7:30 so it was dark half way through the walk. So nice! I have already lost a pound this week. At least 16 more pounds to go in 6 months. That should be easy enough. I hope I can do it.
Life has been pretty boring otherwise. Scarlett has been behaving like a little lady. I am surprised how well behaved she is being. Not that she is a bad kid but she can be a little sassy at times. Kailyn was good yesterday. Last night however, she didn't sleep very well. Went down at like 9pm, work at midnight, then at like 2:30am and then again at like 6am but I just put her in her swing in the frontroom and passed out on the couch. She slept in till almost 8am. Gave her a bath tonight so hopefully she will sleep well.
My Mom was so nice! She bought me some running shoes from Payless.com tonight. They were only $15.99 on sale. All the other colors of that style are original priced but I think the color scheme I got is outta style or something. I think they are cute. They are powder blue, gray and white. They got really good reviews too. Hope they will be here by Monday or Tuesday next week. My other ones hurt my feet. I have a blister on my heel that busts open and bleeds through my sock when I walk. So, I took my two walks today in flip flops which isn't really a good idea. But, it keeps anything from rubbing on my blister.
I still haven't gotten a message back from my Dad. I wrote him like 2 weeks ago. I dunno if he is ever going to write me back. He probably didn't like what I had to say. But I was only being honest. And it felt really good to say what I needed to say. I love my Dad so I hope he writes me back.
Max should be getting internet in his room this weekend so I am hoping we can get on Skype and have a webcam "date" with him, the girls, and me. Scarlett misses her Daddy a lot. She tells me like 3 times a day that she misses him. I miss him too but I am def not whinning about it. I am really annoyed with the wives complaing about this deployment. Especially the ones that have kids. If you have kids, you HAVE to stay positive and upbeat for them. Can't be sad and stuff or else the kid(s) will be sad too.

Sweatin' to the oldies

The past two days have been just another day. Yesterday I FINALLY got around to cleaning the house. It wasn't that dirty but my OCD was telling me to get my butt into gear. After I cleaned the house, I was able to get a 2 hour nap in while the girls slept also. Kailyn's teething diaper "disasters" have pretty much gotten back to normal. She should be fully back to normal by tomorrow. Good because I was kinda freaked out. I was hoping she wasn't getting the flu or something. Anywho, the rest of the day yesterday I just spent with the kids. I haven't heard from Max since yesterday morning at like 12am. I miss talking to him but I know he is super busy. Love my baby! Hung around the house earlier today and then after dinner I went to Ashley's house to take a walk with her, Bethany, and the kids. We walked the 3 mile long PFT track. It was still over 100 degrees when we went, the wind was a little harsh and the sun was still up. Add all that, plus pushing a 31 pound kid, 12 pound baby, and carseat all in a double stroller. Yea, lots to push. This morning I did 50 sit-ups and 10 squats (it's gonna take me awhile to work my way up to more of those in one day) and then I just did another 35 sit-ups. I am going to do 100 sit-ups a day, squats as much in a day as I can, and then for now I am gonna do that 3 mile walk every other day till I can eventually do it every day. Or at least walk around here on the days I can't go to base. Next paycheck I am going to start a low-carb diet also. I would love to get to be 125 by the time Max gets home. I hope I can do it in 6 months. I can't work out too much because I can't take the kids to base so walking and sit-ups is gonna have to work for now. I wanna be sexy for my husband. He deserves to have a sexy wife. I want him to be proud to "show me off" to people like he was when we were 1st married. And I was 120 pounds. :-)
Anyway, that is pretty much it. I just took some Tylenol so my muscles don't freak out tomorrow morning and I am able to get out of bed. Hope Max comes online soon. If not, I understand. I am so sick of hearing people online complain about their husband being on this deployment. Gotta learn to stand alone before you can stand with someone else......

Just a quiet Saturday

Didn't do much today. Just hung out at home with the girls. Kailyn is teething (not popping teeth through the gums yet though) so she's been drooling soooo much and leaving Mommy some nasty diapers...like 7 times a day! Thank God she isn't running a fever and she's not as crabby as teething babies usually are. She has been nawing on my fingers which starts to really hurt after awhile. Yesterday she also discovered she can now roll from her belly to her back. Now if I can just get her to go from back to belly...which I think is gonna happen soon. We were able to all lay down and take a nap. I think I only slept for about an hour but that was a great hour. Right when I woke up, Kailyn was hungry. After I fed her, I went to check the computer to see if Max was on. Well, go figure, he messaged me 10 minutes before I got on the computer. By the time I had gotten to the computer, he already was gone. Well, I know he made if safely so that is all that matters. I am hoping to hear from him as much as possible. There is a huge time difference so when it's daytime there, it is the middle of the night here. That should be interesting when he calls or we talk online. Either he is going to be waking me up from my beauty sleep or he is going to be staying up all night. And since Kailyn is starting to sleep almost through the night now, I shouldn't be so tired. Not that I care. Sleep is a lot less important during deployment. Tomorrow I need to clean the house. I should have done that Friday but I was just not in the mood. Gonna clean tomorrow morning. No more being lazy.
Yesterday we made a good attempt to watch the newest Shrek movie at the theater on base. I went with Ashley, McKenzie, Gunnar, and Bethany. Scarlett and Kailyn did really well. I was surprised. I think I will take them to the movies again soon. Scarlett said she had a great time and wants to go again. Too bad the Shrek movie sucked. The other Shrek movies were WAY better.
This week is gonna be a great week for TV shows. Degrassi is having Degrassi: The Boiling Point 6 week best episodes ever. That starts on Monday. Also on Monday is new R.J Berger. That show is awesome. Tuesday Teen Mom Season 2 starts. Super excited for that. I haven't watched last weekend's Army Wives and I don't think I am watching tomorrow's episode either. Just gonna DVR them and watch them next weekend. I always cry anyway so right now, I am sure I will ball my eyes out. And I don't want to do any crying. I managed to not cry since saying goodbye to Max the other day. Scarlett says we have to be happy, so, we are gonna be happy. :-)

Let's start the countdown

This week has been a tough week. Monday our car decided to scare us and make us think it was broke. Turns out it was just the battery. Phew! Then later that morning, I realized our cat was missing. Sadly, we still have not found her. She must have gotten out sometime Sunday evening. I miss her dearly! Then today, Max left. Scarlett said we can't be sad, so, we are not going to be sad. I teared up a little bit but nothing like last time. Tonight Scarlett is gonna cuddle in bed with me. I just don't want to sleep alone.
The girls otherwise are doing great. Scarlett has discovered her love for dancing so she's been dancing every chance she gets. Kailyn found out today that she has feet. So, she's been playing with her feet and smiling. Those kids are amazing.
Well, nothing else really. Some family pictures we had taken before Max left.....

It's about that time...

Well, we have come to the last few weeks before deployment. I keep telling myself that everything is going to be alright. Max is going to come back, go to school for a few months and then we're going to PCS to hopefully somewhere on the East Coast. I am ready to leave CA. I wanna be somewhat closer to family. It tears me apart inside to know that Scarlett and Kailyn aren't getting the chance to grow up with our wonderful families. Plus, I miss my parents, brother, grandparents and close friends back home.
Since my last post a few things happened around here. Max's Mom came out for a visit. She was here June 22nd till the 26th. It's was a really nice visit. Scarlett had a blast showing her Grandma her room, her toys, how she can dance, how she can count, how she knows her colors, how she....well, she showed her Grandma a lot of things. :-) We went to Palm Springs to go shopping one of the days that she was here. She bought the girls some adorable outfits. I can't wait for the girls to be about to wear their clothes. Then the last day she was here, we went to Sea World. If anyone has the opportunity to see the Cirque de la Mer at the Sea World in San Diego, DO IT! It was amazing! We saw the Blue Horizons Dolphin Show which was amazing as well. It was in the high 60's when were where there so it was a nice and VERY dramatic change from what we're use to here. I felt so bad when we took Max's Mom to the airport and she had to say goodbye to Scarlett. Scarlett was crying so much. She just kept crying, " Grandma!" That lasted for about 5 minutes, which was in turn almost making me cry. :*( Other then that little visit, nothing much has been going on around here. Max's pre-deployment leave ended today. He should be home soon. All he had to do was check in. Tomorrow we have a Family Fun Day thing to attend for the whole battalion. I'm hoping we win something in the raffle. Scarlett should have a great time. Maybe she'll have so much fun that she'll be exhausted and sleep in on Saturday. Yeah, right! A mother can only hope.
Both girls are doing really great. Scarlett is learning so many new things that Max and I just can't believe it. Kailyn is finally sleeping in her crib. No more bassinet. I thought it was going to be a hard transition for me to put her in her crib but it wasn't. She's still in our room but out of our sight. She's already 3 months old! Scarlett will be 3 years old in September. WOW! I enjoy every moment of every day with them. They make their Momma and Daddy so proud.......

Wonderful Sunday

Today Max is going to be cleaning out the garage (once he turns off his darn xbox) :-) I'm gonna sit outside with Scarlett, while she rides her bike and enjoys some outside time.
Yesterday was a good time. We went down to Palm Springs/Palm Desert to do a little bit of shopping. Of course we HAD to go to Best Buy. Max can't go down there without visiting his favorite store. Oddly enough, I was the one that got the big purchases. Got a new Nikon CoolPix S4000, a new camera case for my Canon EOS Digital Rebel, and a funky tri-pod thing that bends and can wrap around anything. That way I can take nice pictures of all of us. Not just of the two girls, even though pictures of them are always awesome. After we went to Best Buy, we headed over to the mall. Max had to stop over by Barns & Nobels to pick up some military books. While he was shopping, Kailyn decided she needed to eat NOW. So, I had to go find a bench to sit down and feed her. Of course all the ones close to the store were taken, so I had to walk a few minutes down the mall and sit. I knew that was a bad idea because Max wasn't going to be able to find us once he was done. I was right! I was just about to get the girls back in the stroller, when I saw Max. He didn't see us though. He walked in the other direction. He walks fast! By the time I had the girls in the stroller, he was gone. I walked all the way to the other end of the mall, stood there for a little bit and then decided to walk back to the book store. And to my surprise, there was Max, sitting outside the book store. Phew! And of course, his phone was in the stroller so we had no way of communication. That was fun...not! After the mall, we decided to end our day with a nice dinner at The Olive Garden. I had a tasty grilled chicken salad and a pina colada (with rum!), Max had some potato soup, breadsticks, a chicken crepe thing and some lemonade alcoholic drink. Of course, Scarlett had mac n cheese. As she says, " My favorite mac n cheese!" :-) I wish we could have weekends like that all the time.
